Brief Description
Jewish Family Service – HIV Services provides individual and group services to support people infected with or at risk of contracting HIV who are struggling with managing their HIV health, their mental health, and their recovery. Our counseling staff understands the needs of a diverse, multicultural population and provides client-centered services in English and Spanish.

Services Offered
Behavioral Intervention Services: We provide individualized support around HIV health and recovery and help clients make positive changes. We offer substance abuse counseling; HIV health education; skills building and facilitated linkage to services for individuals who are HIV+ and struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. We continue to work with clients through slips or relapses and help clients re-establish recovery.

HIV Counseling and Testing: For individuals enrolled in San Diego County-funded Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs, we provide onsite education; HIV risk assessment; HIV testing and pre/post-test counseling services.

Integrated Services Program: We offer mental health services to individuals living with or at high risk of contracting HIV who have mental health problems and current or past problematic relationships with drugs or alcohol.

We provide:
• Psychotherapy for individuals/couples
• Group therapy: Men’s Intimacy Group; Nosotros recovery support group for Spanish speakers.
Fees are based on an affordable sliding scale. Clients will not be denied services for inability to pay. Contact number: 619-325-0522.

*Support Groups: Talking About Tina - A support/harm reduction group for HIV+ men who use methamphetamine looking for a safe place to discuss issues and get information and support, and Hablando de Cristal – a group for monolingual Spanish-speaking men and transgendered individuals.
